Governor DeSantis has issued Executive Order 20-69, suspending the quorum requirements for public meetings, and the requirement that a local government must meet at a specific public place. The Executive Order authorizes local governments to utilize communications media technology such as video conferencing to hold public meetings.
The April 1, 2020 City Council meeting will be held in the City Council Chambers at 4:00 p.m. In order to comply with "social distancing" rules and the limitation on public gatherings, only 1 member of the public will be allowed in the Council Chambers at a time to speak during the Citizen Comment portion of the agenda or to speak on a particular item. If you plan to attend, please practice social distancing, not standing closer than six (6) feet to those around you.
The meeting will be video conferenced online in order to allow those who cannot (or choose not to) attend in person the ability to provide comments, which will be read into the public record at the appropriate time(s) during the meeting. Details on joining the online meeting are outlined below. Another option for anyone who would like to provide comments, is to call (321) 773-4407 or send an email to email@example.com and their comment will be read into the record during the meeting. If you are interested in viewing the meeting without the option of public comment, you can watch the livestream of the meeting on the City's Meeting Videos page.
