Reduce - Reuse - Recycle
The Recreation Department is taking the lead in a city-wide effort to promote the Three R's: Reduce - Reuse - Recycle - among citizens, City departments and businesses. In addition to educating folks on the benefits of recycling, we provide and coordinate expanded recycling opportunities. The David R. Schechter (DRS) Community Center, 1089 South Patrick Drive, serves as a hub for community recycling efforts.
You can recycle the following items at the DRS:
Inside the DRS Lobby:
Reading Glasses | Old Greeting Cards | Box Tops For Education | Cell Phones |
Tabs From Soda Cans | Cardboard Egg Cartons | Wine Corks | Expired Coupons |
Person Hygiene Items | Paperback Books For Soliders |
Behind the DRS:
Cardboard (Broken Down) |
As a citizen:
- Support the various Three R’s opportunities.
- Let us know of any recycling methods you use so we can share this information.
- Encourage neighbors to participate.
- Let us know if you offer a recycling program that is open to the public, such as collecting blankets for injured animals.
- In some cases, we can include a space at our DRS Recycling Center to support your efforts.
- Let us know if your business recycles anything and we can acknowledge your efforts!
