Beach Bonfires

Beach Bonfires

Permitting for the upcoming bonfire season will begin the last Monday in October.
Recreational beach bonfires have long been part of the culture of Satellite Beach for decades. Per City Ordinance 26-31: outdoor burning shall only be allowed with a permit, that includes ceremonial fires, recreational fires, bonfires and campfires. Bonfire season runs November 1
ST through February 28TH. No permits will be issued from March 1ST through October 31ST due to sea turtle nesting season.

Several changes have been made to the permitting process for individuals interested in obtaining a bonfire permit. All permits will be issued by the Recreation Department (Located at 1089 S. Patrick Drive, Satellite Beach, FL 32937) on a first come, first serve basis. Permit fees are $50 each, plus a fully refundable security/damage deposit in the amount of $100 per bonfire site, and a signed and notarized hold harmless agreement. PLEASE NOTE: Last minute bonfire permits issued for the upcoming weekend must have the notarized paperwork completed and be paid for in full no later than 12Noon on Friday (or by Wednesday for weekend of Thanksgiving/Christmas).
