The Satellite Beach Police Department hosted a Citizens Police Academy  April 2004. The Citizens Police Academy is a 10-week program that meets one evening a week and provides citizens with an understanding of police practices and procedures. Topics covered will range from basic law enforcement and patrol operations to complex SWAT tactics, investigative techniques and homeland security concerns. Each week students will meet with law enforcement instructors from around the county to discuss important law enforcement topics as well as experience demonstrations from K-9 Teams, Emergency Response Teams and other law enforcement support services.

Seating is limited and applicants must consent to as basic background screening due to the nature of information discussed. For further information and program applications please contact Commander Jeff Pearson at 321-773-4400 ext. 128 or via e-mail at jpearson@satellitebeach.org..
