Join us the 1st Saturday monthly at the DRS Community Center, 10am-1pm. Learn how to repair your bike, build a bike and talk all things bicycling. Tools and advice provided, BYOB (Bring Your Own Bike). Bike donations welcome! Email SattyBBC@gmail.com for more info.

Satellite Beach Farmers Market
Be sure to stop by our year round market, open on Thursdays from 10am-4pm. The market is located at Pelican Beach Park, 1525 N Hwy A1A Satellite Beach. PAL Youth Teeny Bopper Dances
Open to K-6th graders. Held at the TEEN ZONE, located in the DRS Community Center Building. Cost is $5/person on the 1st & 3rd Saturdays each month from 6:30-9:30pm. If you have questions, call (321) 777-8336.

October 19    Teeny Bopper Halloween Costume Party
The Annual Halloween Teeny Bopper night includes a costume parade and prizes. No reservations needed, just come 6:30-9:30pm and pay $5 at the door.  

*NEW Community Garden Fun Days
Volunteers can participate in the Community Garden monthly FunDay at the LOGOS Community Garden located at 499 DeSoto Pkwy (behind the racquetball courts). Meet from 9-11am on the 3rd Saturday monthly for hands on introduction to local gardening at our neighborhood garden, organized by Rodney Smith. Bring your own drinking water. September 14    National Drive Electric Car Show
Join us at the DRS Community Center from 10am-4 pm for the biggest national day for Electric Vehicles. Have all of your questions about driving on electricity answered by people who do it every day. Learn how their car drives, save money on fuel and maintenance while they drive on locally created electrons. Both static cars on display as well as cars ready to take test ride and drive.   

September 21    Florida Coastal Cleanup
Sponsored by the Ocean Conservancy and Keep Brevard Beautiful at Pelican Beach Park, 8am-12noon. Trash bags, gloves, data cards, pencils and sunscreen will be provided.  For more information, call Arwen at Keep Brevard Beautiful (321)631-0501. 

September 21   Backyard Chicken Basics Workshop
Learn the basics of owning Backyard Chickens at the DRS Community Center from 10am-1pm. Topics      include: diet, housing, sanitation, daily care, choosing suitable varieties, coop and run requirements, feed, health issues, predators and more. Taught by Extension Agent Joe Walter and Fantastic Farm 4H Leader Erika Maier. September 28   PAL 18th Annual Super Bunko 
Bunko is an “Adults Only” game of dice and you can learn as you go!  Sponsored by the Police Athletic League (PAL) to benefit their youth programs. Teen Zone doors open at 6:00pm (dinner included!) and dice roll begins at 7:00pm.  The night includes a silent auction, Chinese auction, prizes and fun.  Advance tickets are $20 from the Recreation Dept or $25 at the door.Call (321) 777-8336 for more info. 

October 6     PAL/Lions Club Pancake Breakfast
Enjoy this community pancake breakfast at the SB Civic Center from 8am-12noon. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased in advance at the PAL office, SB Rec Dept, or from a Lions Club member. 

October 12     PAL Garage & Bike Sale

October 18     Food Trucks and Movie on the Green
SB Rec and SB Pal are teaming up for this fun night!  Purchase dinner from local food trucks, serving from 5pm-9pm in the DRS parking lot. There will be kid’s activities prior to the movie at dusk. Bring your own blankets or lawn chairs and enjoy a movie under the stars with family and friends.  Featuring a FREE showing of the movie Incredibles 2! 

October 20  Brevard Libraries Comic Con
Get ready to geek out at your library! Brevard County Libraries will host a FREE mini comic convention featuring comics, cosplay, gaming, and more! Join us at the SB Library, 751 Jamaica Blvd, from 12-4pm for this family friendly event. Supporting partners are Satellite Beach Recreation Dept, Satellite Beach Police Athletic League (PAL), and  Famous Faces & Funnies 

October 27    Halloween Happening
The SB Lions Club joins forces with Satellite Beach PAL to bring you this free event!  Beginning at 3pm, a “spook parade” will walk west from the SB United Methodist Church to the Teen Zone where there will be activities including music, dancing, refreshments, games & prizes. November 2 Satellite Beach Founders Day & Marketplace“A Walk on the Moon”
Join the City of Satellite Beach and the Satellite Beach Woman’s Club as we celebrate our Annual Founders Day and Marketplace, featuring more than 140 craft and specialty vendors, flea market and bake sale at the DRS Community Center 9am-3pm.  Along with the days’   activities, the community will enjoy a parade of local clubs, groups and organizations all decked out in “A Walk on the Moon” theme. The parade steps off promptly at 11am from the Delaura Middle School parking lot off Jackson Ave., winding through SB streets ending up at the DRS Community Center. Parade entries can call the SB Recreation office (321)773-6458 to participate. Craft booths information may call Jeanne (321) 779-3384. 

*NEW November 16   Hooked Kids on Gardening
Youth ages 6-16yrs may join in on a fun morning at the City of Satellite Beach LOGOS Community Garden located behind the racquetball courts at The Desoto Sports Complex, 499 Desoto Pkwy. The program, 10am-noon will teach gardening fundamentals and kids will take home a starter home garden! Pre-registration is required for $5 and may be accomplished online at playsatellitebeach.org or stop into the Rec Office.  Parent must remain with child. 

December 10    Phone Call from Santa’s Elves
The Satellite High School Jr. ROTC will provide calls from Santa’s Workshop. Parents can call the SB Rec office at (321) 773-6458 to arrange for their child to receive a call from an elf. Mailed forms and calls are accepted through Mon, Dec 9 at 5pm. Santa’s elves will call only on Tues, Dec 10 from 5-8pm EST to any child in the Continental U.S. Print off the form “Santa Calls” online form:       http://www.satellitebeach.org/departments/recreation_department/forms.php Complete the form and fax to (321) 777-5207 or mail/drop off at the Satellite Beach Recreation Dept, 1089 S. December 7    Ocean Reef Beach Festival
Celebrate the ocean lifestyle with conservation and recreation displays, activities and hands on learning! Over 90 exhibits and vendors including food trucks, local ocean artists, live music and more! The event is free and will be held from 10am-5pm at Pelican Beach Park.  Proceeds benefit Surfrider Foundation and Anglers For Conservation. 

December 9-December 15      Twilight Santa

December 21    Jingle Bell Run 2 Miler
This race is part of the Running Zone’s Race Series to benefit Satellite High School Running Programs. Lots of fun for everyone! Event starts at the Satellite Beach Library.   Registration can be completed online at: http://www.runningzone.com/series/jinglebell2miler/

December 21     Holiday Boat Parade
The Banana River Power Squadron will sponsor the 2019 Holiday Boat Parade. Participants should          assemble that evening at the north end of Satellite Beach Grand Canal and travel south beginning at 6pm. Cash Prizes awarded! For more information:  http://www.brsps.org/
