Beach Parks

The City is proud to state that 40% of Satellite Beach’s beachfront property is in public ownership, meaning that citizens can easily access the beach through parks and dune crossovers.  Substantial improvements have been made recently to Pelican Beach Park, Hightower Beach Park and several dune crossovers.  It is vitally important to the future of the natural beach ecosystem, that beachgoers help protect the dunes, sea turtles, and birdlife.  Many local organizations provide opportunities for residents to participate in ocean wildlife monitoring and beach cleanup.  Contact the City’s Recreation Department to inquire how you can help.

The improvements to Hightower Beach Park, jointly funded by the Land & Water Conservation Fund and a partnership with Montecito Community Development, were recognized in the National Park Service’s Annual Report to Congress. The City wanted this park to educate its visitors to the uniqueness of the dune and beach system, and empower folks to make a difference. Educational signs are located throughout the park to meet this goal. Come and enjoy the natural beauty of the what this park has to offer. We encourage family and friends to walk or bike to the park.
