CJ Hobgood is the older (by a minute) of the Hobgood surfing twins.
The 2001 World Champion and one of the most dynamic and popular surfers in the world, CJ began surfing around the age of six in the breakers off the end of Desoto Parkway.
He was an East Coast and national amateur champion by the time he reached his mid-teens and clearly set for a career as a professional surfer.
Shortly after graduating from Satellite High School, CJ qualified for the Association of Surfing Professionals' elite World Championship Tour of surfing.
In addition to being the second youngest world champ in history; CJ was the ASP's Rookie of the Year. Although he travels about eight months out of the year, he and his wife, Rachel, live in Indialantic with their daughter, Genevieve.
C.J. and Damien are co-owners of The Goods Surf & Skate in Indialantic.
