For
the Good of the Order: BARC update on Dog
Parks in Brevard County
1. Palm Bay Regional Park - The dog park at the Palm Bay
Regional Park opened without fanfare on 5/1/07. The grass hasn't grown in the large dog
area yet, so only the small dog area opened. Large and small dogs will alternate using
the small dog area based on a schedule.
2. Fay Lake Wilderness Dog Park - The
Parks and Recreation Department will know sometime this month whether the funds are
available to build the 3 acre dog park approved by this park's citizens advisory
committee. If the funds are available, the dog park should be constructed sometime
in the first quarter of 2008. We'll keep you posted!
3. Canine
Club of Viera/Suntree - If you live in Viera or Suntree (or Rockledge) and
would be interested in joining the Canine Club of Viera/Suntree, please go to http://activedogs.meetup.com/114/ to
sign up for a Meet Up Group.
